The Makita 18V LXT® Brushless Cordless 6-1/2-Inch Circular Saw features a BL™ Brushless Motor that delivers speeds up to 5,000 RPM for faster cutting and ripping. It also features Makita’s Automatic Speed Change™ technology which adjusts cutting speed and torque during cuts for optimal performance. Carbon brushes are eliminated with the BL™ Brushless Motor which allows the motor to run cooler and more efficiently. The electronically-controlled motor efficiently optimizes the battery energy to match torque and RPM based on changing demands of application which allows the motor to run 50% longer per charge. At only 13-3/4-inches long and weighing only 7.3-lbs (with battery, sold separately), this ergonomically designed saw with rubberized soft grips is designed to reduce operator fatigue during extended use. The tool offers a large cutting capacity (2-1/4” at 90°) and bevel capacity (0°- 50°) with a positive stop at 45° with fine adjustment. The die-cast magnesium base, blade guard and safety cover provide durability and longevity while the electric brake maximizes efficiency. For additional convenience, the saw features a built-in dust blower, a retractable tool hook, dual LED lights that illuminate the work surface and a 3-stage LED battery indicator gauge. This tool is protected by Makita’s Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™)which is a protective seal inside the tool that channels water and dust away from internal components. It is also equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™ which protects the unit from overloading, over-discharging and over-heating. This tool is compatible with genuine Makita 18V Lithium-Ion Batteries with a Star symbol (sold separately). Batteries and chargers are sold separately.
