Our Return & Exchange Policy

We hope you love everything you buy from Hartville Hardware, but if you're not satisfied with an item for any reason, you can return it within 90* days for a replacement or refund.

In-Store

Both in-store and online purchases are able to be returned to one of our locations. Simply bring the item you are wanting to return or exchange back to the store in the original packaging. Be sure to bring the original receipt or shipping confirmation email or packing slip email and the credit card you used. If you did not use a credit card for the purchase, your refund will be issued using the same tender the sale was paid with. Please allow 10 days for returns purchased with a check. If you are missing your receipt give us a chance to find the purchase and don't forget to bring a valid I.D. Our goal is to return all merchandise that fits our policy, but all returns are subject to our verification process. If the transaction cannot be verified, we cannot return or exchange the merchandise.

Note: Items purchased online can only be returned to our Hartville location. In-store purchases are not able to be returned through the mail.

Online

Online orders are able to be returned by shipping them back to us. All you have to do is download the return form below, fill it out, and send it back to us with the item. All returned items must include all original parts, be in their original packaging, and in the condition in which they were received or a restocking fee may be assessed. We reserve the right to deny a return if we determine the item has been abused, neglected, or misused. If your item arrived damaged, email us at CustomerService@HartvilleHardware.com or call us at 800-345-2396 during our business hours (8 AM - 6PM Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 4 PM Saturdays). We'll send you a prepaid shipping label so that you can return your item for a refund or replacement. Not sure if your item is damaged? We can offer assistance to troubleshoot the issue before going through the process of returning it.

The following items are not eligible for returns:

  • Clearance Items
  • Gift Cards
  • Delivery, Installs or Repair
  • Custom tinted paints, stains or finishes
  • Cut bulk items (examples: wire, chain, tubing)
  • Special Orders
  • Toilet Seats
  • Major Appliances
  • Utility Trailers
  • Gators, Compact Utility Tractors, & Commercial Zero Turns
  • Generators

*Power tools must be returned within 30 days, after which all warranty claims must be handled directly with the manufacturer. All returned items must include all original parts, be in their original packaging, and in the condition in which they were received or a re-stocking fee may be assessed. We reserve the right to deny a return if we determine the item has been abused, neglected, or misused. Unless the item is damaged, broken, or the order was filled incorrectly, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
