Our Return & Exchange Policy
We hope you love everything you buy from Hartville Hardware, but if you're not satisfied with an item for any reason, you can return most items within 90* days for a replacement or refund. Power tools must be returned within 30 days of purchase, after which all warranty claims must be handled directly with the manufacturer.
Please Note: All returned items must include all original parts, be in their original packaging, and in the condition in which they were received, or a restocking fee may be assessed. We reserve the right to deny a return if we determine the item has been abused, neglected, or misused or we are unable to verify the transaction.
If You've Changed Your Mind:
If you purchased the item online, use the original packaging to send the item back to us. Please be sure to include the packaging slip with your name and order number to help expedite the returns process. You can also download and complete the form below to return your item. Customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

If you purchased the item in-store, simply bring it back to the store in the original packaging. The package must be unopened to qualify for a full refund. Please be sure to bring the original receipt, credit card (if used), and photo ID. Refunds will be issued in the same payment tender of the original sale. Our goal is to return all merchandise that fits our policy, but all returns are subject to our verification process. If the transaction cannot be verified, we cannot return or exchange the merchandise. All sales are final for items sold in the Clearance Cove. Items purchased from the Christmas Shop after 12/25/22 are also considered final sales and will not be eligible for a return or refund.
If Your Items Arrive Damaged OR You Received the Wrong Item:
We'll make it right for you! Please call us at 1-800-345-2396 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. When emailing, please include a photo of the damaged item, along with your order number and damaged item number/description. We will let you know if it is necessary to return the item.
If You Are Missing Items:
Please check your packing slip to see if items are arriving in separate shipments. Boxes can get separated during transit. If they do not arrive within 2-3 business days, please feel free to call us at 1-800-345-2396 or email us at email@example.com. Please be sure to have your order number and item number(s) handy, and we'll be happy to help!
If You Need Advice on Your Product or Think Your Item Could Be Defective:
Please call us at 1-800-345-2396 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our friendly specialists will be happy to help you with your item or help you troubleshoot to determine if your item is defective. If it is, we will be happy to offer a replacement.
The following items are not eligible for returns:
- Engraved and personalized items
- Clearance items
- Gift Cards
- Delivery, installs, labor or repair
- Custom tinted paints, stains or finishes
- Cut bulk items (examples: wire, chain, tubing)
- Special orders
- Toilet seats
- Major appliances
- Utility trailers
- Gators, compact utility tractors, & commercial zero turns
