This Kidde Worry-Free Living Area Sealed Lithium Battery Power Smoke Alarm features photoelectric sensing technology and a Smart Hush feature. Photoelectric technology detects visible particles that are associated with smoldering fires faster than ionization alarms. Industry experts (such as the NFPA), recommend that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of various types of fires that can occur within homes. The Smart Hush feature temporarily silences nuisance alarms (such as when cooking, showering, or other everyday activities) for approximately 10 minutes. Once the unit is attached to the mounting brackets it is designed to automatically activate – no pull tabs or switches necessary! When the alarm is at the end of its life, it will chip which indicates that the alarm needs to be replaced. Using a simple tool like a screwdriver, this smoke alarm can be deactivated which stops the chirping and makes it safe for disposing.

This P3010H smoke detector has a 10-year tamper-proof battery that eliminates the need for battery replacement and eases worry about unauthorized battery removal. The alarm even protects from smoke and fire during power outages for ultimate peace of mind.
