Sorby 809 Oval Skew Blade, 3/4 in. For turners who prefer to make their own turning tool handles, or for use in the Robert Sorby Sovereign System handles. A delicately balanced tool that is the "plane" of a turner's tool kit. Designed by Sorby, the profile allows the tool to glide effortlessly along the tool rest without fear of the edges catching on the rest. It will smooth cylinders, clean the end grain of spindles, and cut shallow curves, beads, pummels, and v-cuts. Indispensable when a fine finish is required from the tool. Blade is tanged at one end and measures approximately 8" long overall. High Speed Steel (HSS) blade is 1/4" thick. A tang collet adapter (85406) is required for use with the Sovereign System. England
