The Pax 1776 Saw, Thomas Flinn's finest saw and a must have for all woodworking enthusiasts. It is the ultimate in beauty and unrivalled performance. Made with a heavily folded brass back engraved with "Pax 1776 Sheffield England", it is made as a celebration piece commemorating the start of Pax saws and are made today to the same high standards they were two hundred years ago.
The folded brass back holds the blade under tension, thereby offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the back aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. The traditional open pistol-grip style handle is made from English Elm and is hand finished with Danish Oil to offer the perfect comfort and grip.
This particular saw is a Rip Cut (for cutting with the grain) with 20 TPI (teeth per inch), making it ideal for ultra smooth cheek cuts on tenon joints. The 10" long blade has a 2" depth of cut. Overall saw length is approximately 15".
For greatest quality assurance all Pax 1776 saws are factory tested before shipment. Saw comes with a custom wooden blade guard. England
