SS1 (A) - Used with sharpening stones up to 1" thick x 3" wide. Sharpen blades up to 1/4" thick and 2-5/8" wide. Positive detents from 15-45 degrees.
SS2 (B) - Used with sharpening stones 1-2" thick and up to 4" wide. Sharpen blades up to 1/4" thick and 3" wide. Postive stop detents from 5 to 60 degrees. Has 5 & 10 degree detents to place a "back bevel" on plane irons. Effectivley increases plane pitch angle for difficult, figured woods.
SS3 (C) - This "short" model is for use on open flat surfaces such as surface plates or table saw tops using abrasive paper or paste, or on low profile plate glass or stones up to 3/8 inch thick and 4 inches wide. Also incudes 5 & 10 dgree postions for "back beveling".
