The Makita 18V LXT® 4-1/2” / 5" Cut-Off/Angle Grinder features Automatic Speed Change™ technology that maintains speed under load and a BL™ Brushless Motor that runs cooler. The tool also includes Active Feedback-sending Technology (AFT®) that turns the motor off if wheel rotation is halted. To enhance user comfort, Makita constructed this grinder with rubberized soft grips, a slide switch with lock-on operation, and a compact design measuring 14-1/4-inches long and weighing only 5.6-lbs with battery (sold separately). For additional convenience, this power tool also features soft start-ups, spiral bevel gears that offer smoother rotations and anti-restart protection which prevents the motor from starting up if the switch lock is on and battery is inserted. Batteries and chargers are sold separately from this tool but Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries deliver the fastest charging time in their categories, giving time back to your projects and requiring less time on the charging stations. This handheld Cut-Off / Angle Grinder is protected by Makita’s Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) which is a protective seal inside the tool that channels water and dust away from internal components.
