Oneway 3632 Thread-Lok Ferrule, 1/4 in. This ingeniously designed machined aluminum ferrule from Oneway allows you to use your personal tool handle designs to create your own unique turning tools. The ferrules have an internal threaded taper which allows you to screw the ferrule onto the matching taper of a wooden tool handle.
The tool handle must have a hole drilled into the center of it to accept the tool and allows you to adjust the length of the "stick out". Locking screws in the ferrules seat the tool to the handle, and by adjusting the length of the "stick out" you can obtain the right balance for the tool making it easier to use and manipulate.
If the ferrule ever loosens on the handle, simply twist it further onto the taper and it will be securely locked in place again. The ferrules also allow double ended gouges to be used in wooden handles. Thread-Loks are available separately in 4 sizes - 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8". Size denotes the tool blade diameter the ferrule will accept.
Metal template patterns for each size ferrule are available separately. The templates allow you to quickly and easily turn the correctly matching tapers on tool handles in order to accept the Thread-Lok™ ferrules. Canada
