The Makita SJS™ 4-1/2-Inch High-Power Angle Grinder set includes a grinding wheel, a wheel guard, a side handle, an inner flange, a lock nut and a wrench. The 13 AMP motor delivers variable speed (2,800 – 10,500 RPM) and allows users to match speed to application while the spiral bevel gears offer smoother rotations. For added convenience, the two-position side handle allows for easier grip and the “tool-less” wheel guard simplifies adjustments. In addition, this tool features Makita’s SJS™ technology. SJS™ technology is a mechanical clutch system that allows the drive shaft to slip if the wheel is forced to stop, preventing damage to the motor and gears. This angle grinder also features soft-start which creates smoother start-ups and longer tool life. The slide switch lock-on setting allows for continuous use while the tool’s constant speed control maintains consistent speed under load. The tool also features a labyrinth construction that protects the motor from dust and an electronic current limiter that protects the motor from overloading.
