The kit contains the following:
Woodworkers Square Guide - Used in conjunction with the very fine abrasive sharpening belts, the Woodworkers Square Guide will give a perfect cutting edge on any woodworking chisel and plane blade. The jig fence on the jig is adjustable to ensure a precise and repeatable 90-degree angle.
Aluminium Oxide Belt – Includes one 240 grit belt. Aluminum oxide belts put a keen edge on tools while avoiding overheating. Work best for bench and carving chisels, knives, and plane irons.
Trizact Belts – Includes one each of the 600, 1200, and 3000 grit belts. Trizact is a unique abrasive with engineered pyramidal shaped particles that cut consistently and last for a long time. Works best for superfine finishing of knives and other fine edge tools.
Sorby selected these belts because they have an even cut rate and give a vastly prolonged belt life over standard abrasive belts. This produces knives and tools with consistent honed bevels and incredibly sharp cutting edges.
As with all abrasives, you should always use the belts in order of grit size, from the coarsest to the finest. Working through the grits maximizes the efficiency of each belt, and achieves the best possible results.
