Product Description
This 1/2" wide (13mm) Crown Mortising chisel has an extra-thick blade with flat ground sides that help it "register" to the mortise sides to guide it accurately, as well as help them hold up to the heavy blows required to chop out joints. Blade is traditionally hot forged from fine carbon steel and is fitted with a leather shock washer between the tang and the handle to deaden vibrations. The tough ash handle is just over 5-1/2" long and has steel reinforcing hoops at top and bottom. The overall length is approximately 11-3/4". Honing is recommended before use. England
