Spyderco Black Native 5 has been a staple of the Spyderco product lineup and a flagship of their American-made knives since its release in 1997. The design has since evolved and reached its current state as Native® 5 in 2012. The newest rendition of Native® 5 is this lightweight version that combines the same beloved features and functionality with a lightweight, injection molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle. Proudly made in a factory in Golden, Colorado, the Native5 offers a premium CPM S30V stainless steel, spear point blade. In addition, the blade has a full-flat grind, distal taper, a textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp and an understated swedge. All of these features add to the distinctive look and performance as well as bring optimal edge geometry and point utility. The blade gets its support from the highly refined back lock mechanism. The tool’s liner-less FRN handle features Bi-Directional Texturing™ for an ultimate, non-slip grip. In addition, the handle houses (4) sets of threaded inserts that are molded directly into the FRN. The pocket C41PBK5clip, therefore, can be positioned for tip-up or tip-down carry on either your left or right-side. This knife also includes a tether-ready hole for additional attachment methods to fobs or lanyards. The Native® 5 Lightweight Pocket Knife showcases Spyderco’s commitment to advancing time-honored designs in order to evolve and make even their best products consistently better.
