The Makita 18V LXT® Cordless 7/8" Rotary Hammer features a variable speed, Makita-built motor that delivers 0-1,200 RPM and 0-4,000 BPM. It also features 3 modes of operation: "Rotation Only", "Hammering with Rotation" or "Hammering Only" for multiple applications. The gears are designed to automatically disengage if the bit binds (preventing gear damage) because of the tool’s torque limiting clutch. For enhanced operator convenience and productivity, Makita designed this rotary hammer with one-touch sliding chucks for faster bit changes, a large 2-finger variable speed trigger and an electric brake. In addition, the chisel can be rotated 360° with 40 different positions and the RPM and BPM can be synchronized for faster drilling. At only 16-3/8-inches long and weighing only 7.7-lbs. with battery (sold separately), this tool is designed to reduce fatigue during continuous use and even includes rubberized soft grip handles. The shock absorbent handle has been jobsite tested and proven to protect the battery housing.
