Crown CARB2H Swan Neck Probe with Carbide Cutter, Handled. The Swan Neck Probe is ideal for for turning boxes, goblets and small hollow forms, and is also useful for turning small bowls or platters. It has a 1/2" (12.7mm) diameter by 12.7" (300mm) long shank, with the last 3" (75mm) tapering to the cutting tip. The combination of the Swan Neck with the tapered shape makes it perfect for gaining access to more confined areas, especially when undercutting inside a hollow form, such as a vase. Additionally, the shaft is made from high strength, high tensile T19 carbon steel, which is hardened for extra toughness.
The long lasting 0.31" (8mm) diameter cutting tip is made from fine grained Nano Technology Tungsten Carbide. Plus, the 360 degree cutting edge has the advantage of allowing you to simply loosen the screw and rotate it to a fresh edge when the old edge wears out. It is razor sharp from the get-go, so it will take a clean shaving and leave an exceptionally smooth surface, and for it's size it removes an amazing amount of material very quickly.
Probe includes one Carbide Cutter with Screw, and a Torx wrench. Stained black ash handle is approximately 12-1/2" long, and the tool has an overall length of approximately 21-1/2". England
