Designed by professional turner, Mike Mahoney, the Double Barreled Resolver (#MMDE-T) Scraper from Carter & Son Toolworks is a nifty dual ended gouge built for detailed work. It has a 1/4" parabolic flute bowl gouge at one end and a 3/8" spindle gouge at the other, so that when paired with one of Carter & Son's amazing interchangeable aircraft aluminum handles, and a 3/8" adapter (both sold separately), you can quickly switch from one end to the other as needed. The Double Barreled Resolver blade is made from M42 Cobalt HSS and is shipped sharp with the same grind found at Mahoney's lathe. This blade has a unique round tang for strength & stability, and is 3/8" wide x 12" long. USA

Reinforced with the strength enhancing properties of Cobalt, M42 HSS maintains an edge extremely well, while still retaining easy sharpening properties. To further increase strength the blades are certified heat-treated to 68HRC.
The blades have two flats where two securing set screws rest so that the screws do not rub the cylindrical surface of the bit, and the fit between tool and handle is within .002 of an inch. Combined with the heft and durability of the solid 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum handle, and the deep seating of the blade, this precision reduces to a minimum the enemies of all cutting tools - vibration and chatter. The handle is ergonomically shaped and well balanced to match the tool, while the upper portion is knurled for better gripping. Tool comes factory sharpened and ready for use. Made in the USA!
