Invented by renowned turner Melvyn Firmager, the Firmager Shaper / Parting Tool is called both because not only is it a great parting off tool, it also works excellently as a shear scraper when used with the proper technique. At a mere 1/16" thick, the blade allows for the finest of parting cuts on bowls, boxes, and other vessels, with a minimum of waste. The High Speed Steel (HSS) blade is 1/16" (1.6mm) thick.
