If either sensor detects a potential hazard, they will communicate with each other. If smoke is detected, the photoelectric technology automatically adjusts its smoke sensitivity to better discriminate between real and false hazards, such as cooking-related smoke.
The sealed lithium battery powers the unit for up to 10 years which eliminates the need to worry or replace batteries often.
