It also inhibits rust formation when applied over clean ferrous metals like iron and steel, eliminating the need for a separate rust-inhibitive primer. The formula dries to a smooth, tight film that resists flash rusting and long-term rust development, making it ideal for metalwork such as iron railings, steel doors, and metal panels. Suitable for use over or under oil or water-based paints, this water-based primer offers low odor and easy soap and water cleanup. It can be tinted with many universal colorants, and the gray primer variant enhances the hide and coverage of rich or dark topcoat colors.
