This finish stains and safeguards wood in one easy step, delivering a natural hand-rubbed appearance that resists water and alcohol. It can be topcoated with Varathane Liquid Plastic or Elite Diamond Finish after 72 hours for added durability. Favored by master craftsmen yet simple enough for DIY enthusiasts, it is best applied with a soft cloth but can also be used with a brush or synthetic steel wool. Ideal for furniture, cabinets, doors, trim, and paneling, this finish covers 55 to 75 square feet per quart and dries to touch within 2 to 4 hours, with surfaces ready for use in 8 to 10 hours.
