Tormek SJ-200 Japanese Waterstone is a premium 4000 grit sharpening wheel designed to create a razor-sharp edge and deliver a mirror finish with minimal visible marks. This fine surface polishes the edge to perfection, making it ideal for those seeking ultimate sharpness. Perfect for sharpening hand tools such as carving tools, knives, scissors, plane irons, and wood chisels, it excels where minimal steel removal and a superior surface finish are required. The unique composition of the stone ensures an exceptionally long lifespan. Due to the extremely fine surface it leaves, honing on the leather honing wheel is not recommended afterward. To maintain optimal performance, clean the stone surface of steel particles regularly using the fine side of the Stone Grader SP-650, avoiding the coarse side. The SJ-200 fits all current Tormek T-4 machines as well as previous models with an 8” (200 mm) stone diameter. While this stone is excellent for sharpening, it has limited steel removal capacity and is not intended for shaping tools, which involves removing steel to form the desired shape and edge angle.
