Tormek SG-200 Original Grindstone

Tormek SG-200 Original Grindstone is a sharpening wheel designed to deliver the perfect balance of efficient steel removal, smooth surface finish, and long-lasting performance. It effectively cuts all types of tools and steel qualities, including high-speed steel (HSS). The unique composition of the stone, when used with the Stone Grader SP-650 (sold separately), provides two different cutting actions in one stone. The Stone Grader polishes the grindstone’s surface from its standard 220 grit to a finish comparable to a 1000 grit stone, allowing you to perform fine sharpening with the same jig setting used for initial shaping. This versatility makes the Original Grindstone ideal for both efficient steel removal and fine finishing across a wide range of materials, from carbon steel to high-speed steel. The SG-200 fits the Tormek T-4 Original, T-4 Bushcraft, and earlier Tormek models with an 8-inch (200 mm) stone diameter. It is important to distinguish between shaping, which removes steel to achieve the desired shape and edge angle, and sharpening, which simply renews the sharpness of an existing shape.
