The specialty deck screws are ACQ approved and feature a TORX ttap drive system, ensuring superior strength and durability. Unlike other hidden fastener systems, Cortex fasteners can be used across the entire deck surface, including stairs and perimeters, offering versatile installation options. Please note, these fasteners are compatible with all full-profile TimberTech deck boards except scalloped boards from the Terrain, Prime, Prime+, and Reliaboard collections. Installation requires predrilling with a recommended 7/32” drill bit to pilot a hole halfway through the deck board without penetrating the framing. Cortex for PRO EDGE is not suitable for metal framing; for steel framing, Cortex Drillers from FastenMaster must be purchased separately.
