Sorby TurnMaster Shank with #1, 2 & 3 TC Cutters is the un-handled version of Robert Sorby's versatile TurnMaster Tool, featuring all three primary Tungsten Carbide cutters: round, detail point, and square. This innovative tool is the first wood turning instrument in the world to combine three cutting-edge technologies into one highly adaptable and valuable tool. Its collection of parts and cutters makes it the most flexible single turning tool available on the market today. The TurnMaster accepts any of the three standard cutters as well as a wide range of specially configured cutting tips designed to work seamlessly with it. The tool incorporates a patented interchangeable cutter head that locks into three positions, offering both scraping for fast material removal and shear scraping for fine finishing and smoothing. The round shank has a flat underside for stability on the rest, secured by a high tensile strength torx screw to keep cutters tight. It also includes a special key for quick cutter release. Cutters come in three materials: tungsten carbide (TC), high speed steel (HSS), and titanium nitride (TiN) coated Excelsior tips, allowing turners to select the ideal cutter for their specific materials. Tungsten carbide is perfect for roughing and abrasive materials like high silica exotic woods, HSS provides clean detail and fine finishing, and the TiN coated tips offer enhanced toughness and prolonged edge life while remaining re-sharpenable. The RSTM-SCT123 package includes one each of the round, detail point, and square Tungsten Carbide cutters, along with a cutter release key, torx wrenches, and an instruction sheet. The head and shank measure 10-5/8" long, with a shank diameter of 1/2" and a tang length of 2-1/8".
