Precision Sorby Revolving Stebcentre with adjustable spur drives for safe, versatile woodturning.
sorry, this item is out of stock
Sorby Revolving Stebcentre, 7/8 in. x #2 MT is a precision tool inspired by Norwegian master turner Petter Herud, designed to enhance your woodturning experience. This live or revolving version of the Robert Sorby Stebcentre allows woodturners to explore off-center or eccentric turning with ease. Featuring revolutionary spur drives that combine a spring-loaded center point with a ring of razor-sharp teeth, it provides adjustable control by winding in the tailstock to vary the degree of "bite" while keeping the center point securely in place. This innovative design offers several advantages, including increased safety for novice turners as the workpiece will stop revolving if a dig-in occurs, preventing kickback. For more experienced users, the teeth can be backed off while the point remains engaged, allowing the workpiece to be stopped and checked without removal from the lathe. This makes critical production turning more efficient, as finished pieces and blanks can be exchanged simply by adjusting the tailstock rather than stopping the lathe. The size refers to the drive face diameter, and this model comes in diameters of 1/2", 7/8", and 1-1/4". Made in England, this tool combines quality craftsmanship with innovative features to support your turning projects. Model Number: LRCSTB200
