Sorby Revolving Stebcentre, 1/2 in. x #2 MT is a precision tool inspired by Norwegian master turner Petter Herud, designed to enhance your turning projects with versatility and safety. This live version of the Robert Sorby Stebcentre allows for off-center or eccentric turning, making it ideal for experimenting with complex shapes. It features revolutionary spur drives that combine a spring-loaded center point with a ring of razor-sharp teeth. By adjusting the tailstock, you can vary the degree of bite while keeping the center point firmly in place, offering greater control and flexibility. This design provides safety benefits for novice turners, as the workpiece will stop revolving if a dig-in occurs, preventing kickback. For production turning, the teeth can be retracted to stop and check the workpiece without removing it from the lathe, and finished pieces can be swapped out easily without restarting the lathe. The size refers to the drive face diameter, and this model comes in 1/2", 7/8", and 1-1/4" diameters. Made in England, this tool delivers quality and performance for woodturners of all skill levels. Model Number: LRCSTB250
