This delicately balanced tool serves as the "plane" of a turner's kit, allowing for smooth and effortless gliding along the tool rest without the edges catching. It is ideal for smoothing cylinders, cleaning the end grain of spindles, and cutting shallow curves, beads, pummels, and v-cuts. This blade is indispensable when a fine finish is required. The blade is tanged at one end and measures approximately 8 inches long overall, made from durable High Speed Steel (HSS) with a thickness of 1/4 inch.
