Record Power SC4 Geared Companion Chuck, 4" High Tensile Steel Body, Insert Thread Version is designed for woodturners who already have a chuck kit and want an additional body at an affordable price. This allows you to keep your most-used jaws mounted while swapping bodies instead of the jaws themselves. The 102 mm (4") high tensile steel body features integral pinions to drive the scroll ring, enabling easier operation with a ball-end hex key and better access behind large diameter workpieces. For larger projects, you can also add aftermarket hex keys with longer shafts. A backing plate secures the pinions, includes indexing holes, and protects the internal mechanisms from dust and resin, reducing the need for maintenance and cleaning. This model is manufactured as an insert chuck, allowing you to use the chuck on multiple lathes with different thread spindles by simply changing the low-cost insert instead of the entire body. This insert system also future-proofs your chuck, as any machine upgrades with spindle thread changes will only require a new insert.
