JET 16 in. Drum Sander with Stand, JWDS-1632 is a newly redesigned tool that makes sanding projects easier and more precise. It features a tool-less parallelism system that allows for simple adjustments, with the worktable easily positioned by turning the parallelism dial. The variable-speed control lets users select the ideal feed rate for a wide range of projects, while the Sandsmart™ feature continuously monitors the drum motor load to prevent overloading. Its mirrored dust hood design optimizes dust collection and prevents chips and dust from interfering with the workpiece finish. This drum sander includes a self-cooling, easily removable drum with sealed and permanently lubricated ball bearings for longer life. The precision-flattened reinforced steel conveyor bed and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum help dissipate heat and protect the work surface. Separate feed and drum motors provide independent control for optimized performance. The sturdy stand features a 20" x 37" footprint for stability, a storage shelf, and pre-drilled holes for casters. Additional conveniences include a relative depth scale on the handwheel for accurate depth measurement and a conveniently located on/off switch and variable speed knob.
