Flexcut offers a precision tool designed with advanced metallurgical processes to enhance performance and durability. It has long been understood that by subjecting metal tools to elevated temperatures followed by rapid cooling, the properties of the metal can be significantly improved. This process alters the crystal structure, transforming the larger and softer austenite into the smaller, more stable martensite, resulting in steel with excellent wear resistance and ductile qualities. When combined with high-quality heat treatment, a cryogenic process at extreme temperatures of -301°F (-185°C) further enhances this transformation. At these low temperatures, fine ‘eta’ carbides form within the carbon structure, acting as a filler between the metal crystals. This refined crystal structure produces a blade that retains its edge longer and provides a superior feel during use.
