This gouge features the highly sought-after long fingernail profile ground tip, delivering outstanding edge sharpness and perfect balance. It is designed to make both finish and rough cuts on the inside or outside of your vessel with ease. The 1/2" version measures 26" in overall length and is equipped with a 16" long stained black ash handle for comfortable and ergonomic use. Made in England, the Pro-PM tools represent the elite of Crown’s turning tools, constructed from advanced Powder Metal (PM) steel. This material is compressed and sintered molten steel, providing a cutting edge that lasts four to five times longer than conventional High Speed Steel (HSS) tools. The gouge is hardened to between 66° and 68° Rockwell, offering superior wear resistance, excellent grindability, toughness, and high retention of hardness.
