Cormark Exotic Lumber Purple Heart 8/4 (By the Board Foot)

Cormark Exotic Lumber Purple Heart 8/4 is a strong and durable wood known for its striking color and versatility. Often called Amaranth, this exotic lumber is perfect for inlays, accent pieces, flooring, furniture, and heavy construction projects. When freshly cut, Purple Heart displays a grayish-purple hue that deepens into a rich eggplant purple with exposure. Over time and with UV exposure, the wood darkens to a brown shade with subtle purple undertones, a transformation that can be slowed by applying UV-resistant finishes. The grain is typically straight but can sometimes be irregular or wavy, adding unique character to each piece. Despite its excellent strength, care should be taken during machining as the wood can release a gummy resin if cut with dull tools or at excessive speeds, which may clog tools. This lumber is priced per board foot, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both beauty and durability in their woodworking projects. ** "Random Length" means each piece may vary in length within a typical range, rather than all pieces being cut to one fixed size. This is a common way lumber and boards are sold, keeping costs lower than ordering pieces cut to a single specified length. If you need specific lengths for your project, please contact our lumber department and we'll be happy to help. ** Model Number: 8/4 PURPLEHEAR
