Cormark Exotic Lumber African Teak 4/4 is a premium wood known for its uniform dark golden brown color and coarse texture with a straight grain. This exotic lumber, scientifically known as Tectona grandis and belonging to the Verbenacea family, originates from Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, with introductions to the Caribbean and West Africa. The wood contains silica, making it oily to the touch and giving it a distinctive leather-like aroma. While the silica content can cause severe blunting of tools, the wood is relatively easy to work with, though pre-boring is recommended before screwing or nailing.
