The Makita 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw Kit with 55" Guide Rail includes a 48T Carbide-Tipped Blade, a wrench and a stackable tool case. The saw’s 12 AMP motor delivers variable speed (2,000 - 5,200 RPM) and allows users to match speed to application. The saw has a large cutting capacity (2-3/16" at 90° and 1-9/16" at 45°) and a bevel capability (-1 to 48°) with positive stops at 22.5° and 45° making it ideal for cutting large wood panels and other wood materials in small spaces. It also offers close to the wall cutting (11/16-inch) for additional cutting needs. The tool’s built-in current limiter prevents the motor from overloading while the electronic speed control maintains consistent speed under load, even under hard and thick materials. For easier blade installation, the saw features a locking level that holds the blade while a wrench is inserted through the blade hole. The system’s dust ports direct dust and debris away from the operator and also easily connect to a vacuum. For additional convenience, the smooth plunge release lever was designed for user comfort while the easy-to-set depth adjustment has a large scale for better visibility. The saw provides additional ergonomic benefits with its rubberized handles, large two-finger trigger and weight at only 9.7-lbs. To protect the inner components, the blade case, gear housing and base are all constructed from precision magnesium. The included 55-inch guide rail interacts with the saw base to provide smooth and precise straight or bevel cuts. The saw base is attachable to other competitor guide rail systems as well. For splinter-free cutting, the Makita Plunge saw offers built-in depth stops that allow preliminary cuts to be performed (2 to 3mm) before cutting through the entire material. In addition, the saw has dual front and rear bevel supports and a soft-start feature for smoother start-ups.
