Forney Mild Steel Low Hydrogen Electrode, 5/32 In. 5 Lb. is designed to deliver high-quality welding results on smaller amperage AC and DC welders. These mild steel "Low Hydrogen" welding rods are suitable for all positions on hardenable steels without the need for pre-heating and work exceptionally well on cold rolled steels that typically suffer from excessive porosity when welded with conventional rods. This electrode reduces cracking and peeling of the weld material while offering excellent restart capability. It is ideal for welding low, medium, and high carbon steels as well as some higher strength low alloy steels, making it perfect for applications such as frames, trailer hitches, and chassis. The AWS Classification is E7018, with a diameter of 5/32 inch and comes in a 5-pound box. It is recommended for use with DCEP Reverse or AC polarity and provides a tensile strength of 70,000 psi.
