Forney AC Low Hydrogen Electrode, 1/8 In. 5 Lb. welding rods are crafted from AC mild steel and designed to deliver high-quality results even on smaller amperage AC/DC welders. These electrodes are suitable for welding in all positions on hardenable steels without requiring pre-heating, as well as on cold rolled steels that typically experience excessive porosity with conventional rods. The low hydrogen content significantly reduces the risk of cracking and peeling in the weld material, ensuring a strong and durable finish. These rods also offer excellent restart capability, making them ideal for projects involving low, medium, and high carbon steels, along with certain higher strength low alloy steels. Perfect for applications such as frames, trailer hitches, and chassis, they meet the AWS Classification E7018 AC standard. Each rod measures 1/8 inch in diameter, 14 inches in length, and provides a tensile strength of 70,000 psi.
