This replica from CollectA is of a Diplodocus which was an herbivorous dinosaur from the Upper Jurassic period. The Diplodocus had a very long neck that helped it to eat vegetation from tall trees. It also had an extremely long tail that was believed to have offered balance and support to the hind legs. The long tail is also believed to have acted as a defense weapon that could lash out at predators with great force.
