This 18V LXT® Cordless 1/4-Inch Compact Die Grinder features a Makita-built 4-pole motor that delivers speed of up to 26,000 RPM for faster grinding power. The short neck, barrel grip design increases maneuverability in tight spaces at only 12-1/8-inches long (with battery, sold separately). For convenience, the tool includes rubberized soft grips for comfort and vent slots designed to direct exhaust air away from the operator. The slide switch with lock-on capability offers continuous operation while the tool’s anti-restart protection prevents the motor from starting up when the battery is inserted with the switch locked-on. For additional safety, the built-in alert light provides motor overload protection when it notifies users of low battery charge. The tool includes a round-shaped collet nut that reduces the change of work surface damage while the tool’s overall solid aluminum housing enhances its durability. At only 3.8-lbs (with battery, sold separately), this tool is designed to reduce operator fatigue during extended use while the externally accessible brushes offer easy serviceability. Equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™, this tool is protected against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating. It is compatible with genuine Makita 18V LXT® batteries and chargers with a Star symbol. Batteries and chargers are sold separately.
