The Homasote 440 SoundBarrier® is a special-density structural board designed to control sound in floors, walls and ceilings. These boards are independently lab tested and have proven themselves time and time again in both residential and commercial structures. SoundBarrier® panels are constructed of 100% environmental Homasote® cellulose fiber, which is a moisture-resistant homogeneous composition manufactured with uniformly distributed protection against termites, rot and fungi. These panels are also great insulators with twice the R-value of wood. Homasote 440 SoundBarrier® panels are ideal for room partitions, peripheral walls, ceilings, and floors in single-family housing, multi-family housing, apartments, condominiums, motels, hotels, schools, professional buildings and assisted living facilities.
