The Fingernail Gouge Grinding Attachment holds woodturning gouges for sharpening bevels at consistent, repeatable angles. It can adjust up to 40° and the jig’s clamp firmly holds tool shafts 3/16” to 1-3/8” thick and up to 1-9/16” wide. This tool is ideal for sharpening spindle and bowl gouges, roughing gouges, and for maintaining their cutting edges – from simple bevels, to side ground variations, to the traditional fingernail shape. This attachment is also great for sharpening carving tools.
