This Worry-Free Kitchen Smoke/CO Alarm from Kidde is a 10-year, sealed battery smoke and carbon monoxide detector. It features both photoelectric and electrochemical sensing technologies which sense and alert if threats like smoke or carbon monoxide are present. If either sensor detects a potential hazard, they will communicate with each other. If smoke is detected, the photoelectric technology automatically adjusts its smoke sensitivity to better discriminate between real and false hazards, such as cooking-related smoke.
The sealed lithium battery powers the unit for up to 10 years which eliminates the need to worry or replace batteries often. The alarm provides continuous protection and work even during power outages. Plus, it features an easy install process. Simply attach the alarm to the mounting brackets and it will automatically activate. There are no pull-tabs or switches. At the end of its life, this smoke detector will chirp which indicates that the alarm needs to be replaced. By using a screwdriver, the unit can be deactivated which stops the chirping and makes it safe for disposal.
