Makita 18V X2 LXT® Brushless 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw features a Makita-built BL™ Brushless Motor that delivers variable speed (2,500-6,300 RPM) for maximum performance and 50% longer run time per charge. When paired with (2) LXT® batteries, this tool delivers power, speed and run time comparable to corded competitors (like Makita SP6000J) without the hassle of a cord. It is ideal for cutting large wood panels like melamine and MDF, as well as aluminum and Corian® with material specific blades (this kit includes a wood blade, other blades are sold separately). With (2) LXT® 5.0 Ah batteries, this circular saw is designed to deliver up to 125 cuts per charge in 4x8 sheets of 1/2-inch plywood. In addition, this saw offers close to wall cutting (11/16-inch), a large cutting capacity (2-3/16-inches at 90°; and 1-9/16-inches at 45°) and a bevel capacity (-1° to 48°) with positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. The tool’s Automatic Speed Change™ technology adjusts cutting speed and torque during cuts for optimal performance in a variety of materials while the electronic speed control maintains constant speed under load for smooth cuts. Some of the tool’s other features include soft-start, easy-to-set depth adjustments with a large scale, a 3-stage LED battery level gauge, and dual front & rear bevel supports for sturdy, accurate cuts. When blade changes are required, the tool’s integrated locking lever makes blade changes quick and easy by holding the blade into position while the on-board hex wrench is inserted through the blade hole. For comfort and convenience, this tool includes a smooth plunge release lever, rubberized soft grip handles, and electric brake and a large 1-7/16-inch rear dust port that directs material away from the operator and easily into a vacuum system. The included premium 55-tooth ultra-thin kerf carbide tipped saw blade (B-57071) is ideal for cordless saws and offers up to 66% more cuts per charge compared to standard corded plunge saw blades. For clean and splinter-free cuts, the plunge saw includes a built-in depth stop that enables a preliminary cut of (5/64") 2mm to (7/64") 3mm to be performed prior to cutting through the entire material. The saw can also be used with an optional guide rail system (sold separately) to provide precise straight or bevel cuts. The integrated slide lever on the saw’s base is designed to engage the guide rail (sold separately) for stability. This Cordless 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw is equipped with Star Protection Computer Controls™which protects the system from overloading, over-discharging and over-heating. Also included in this kit is a Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger and (2) 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah batteries (BL1850B). The dual port charger can charge two batteries at once and communicates with the batteries built-in chips to optimize current, voltage and temperature. It also has built-in fans that cool the batteries for faster, more efficient charging. The 5.0 Ah batteries reach a full charge in 45 minutes or less and have an LED battery level indicator for convenience. The Makita 36V LXT® Brushless 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw is only compatible with genuine Makita batteries with Star symbol and Makita chargers.
